HISTORY

Since 1966, StarVista programs have transformed the lives of children, teens, adults, families, and the communities where they live. StarVista became what it is today through the extensive merging of local agencies throughout the county, all dedicated to helping individuals overcome life’s challenges. As we reflect on more than five decades of service and remarkable growth, StarVista proves to be the premier thought leader and service provider addressing early childhood development, mental health, youth homelessness, recovery services, and suicide and crisis intervention in San Mateo County.

PROGRAMS & SERVICES

StarVista’s programs and services can be seen throughout San Mateo County. We offer early childhood services that help parents provide a nurturing home and address psychological issues in very young children so they can succeed in school. We transform teen and young adult lives through crisis counseling, housing, and school-based outreach. We support adults challenged by trauma, mental health, substance abuse, or other debilitating situations by offering the holistic resources, guidance, and inspiration they need to make changes and live the life they deserve. We provide family-focused programs that help repair and rebuild families who may need extra support, resources, or guidance.

COMMUNITY

Over 250 StarVista staff, interns, and volunteers support 41,000+ clients every year in navigating life’s challenges. We collaborate extensively with community partners ranging from teachers, city and county officials, local law enforcement, and other nonprofit organizations. Community partnerships developed over StarVista’s decades of service ensure our community can access resources that meet all of their needs. Through these partnerships, StarVista works to ensure that any individual experiencing life challenges can receive the services, resources, and support they need to build the lives they want to live.
