MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS

– Annual Community Awareness Event –

This new annual event puts our services front-and-center for people experiencing a mental health crisis as we celebrate and promote Mental Health Awareness Month. Featuring wellness activities, community vendors, wellness speakers, and 5K run/walk, this campaign draws the attention of residents who are most concerned about the mental wellness of our students, friends, and neighbors.

GIFT DRIVE

– Annual Beloved Holiday Tradition –

Popular among clients and staff, the Gift Drive is StarVista’s tradition of supporting clients who otherwise would not get to share in the giving spirit of the holidays. This heart-felt creation of a beloved, late StarVista staffer, Durand “Randy” Clark Yano, is run by staff-volunteers who collect and distribute donated gift cards, toys, games, household essentials, and more, spreading joy to children and families every year.

KIDS KAMP

– Getaway Camp for Children –

Every Summer, StarVista’s offers a week-long Kids Kamp, where children living in a family struggling with alcohol or drug addiction can set aside their stress and have fun, while having an opportunity to learn, grow, and heal. Kids Kamp, hosted by our School-Based Services staff and volunteers, gives kids in San Mateo County a chance to adopt the critical self-care skills they learn in the program in a safe and supportive environment.
