THE CHILDREN'S PLACE

StarVista’s The Children’s Place offers prevention services for children of parents who are addicted to drugs or alcohol. In an effort to break the cycle of addiction, the program uses education and counseling to teach children about addiction, help them learn healthy coping and safety skills, build their self-esteem, and help them realize that they are not alone.

SERVICES

School Services: The Children’s Place school services offer individual and group counseling to children from kindergarten through eighth grade who are referred by their teachers or school counselors. We also provide family work-shops and teacher education in each school that we serve.

Kids’ Kamp: Each summer, The Children’s Place offers a week-long Kids’ Kamp where children are able to put aside the stress and concerns of living in a chemically dependent family, and have fun while also having a chance to learn, grow, and heal.
