CHILD AND PARENT SERVICES (CAPS)

StarVista’s Child and Parent Services (CAPS) is available to any family with a child 0-17 living in Redwood City, East Palo Alto, San Mateo, Half Moon Bay, Montara, El Granada, Moss Beach, San Bruno, South San Francisco, and Daly City.

CAPS Early Prevention services are available to families with children 0-17 in select cities across San Mateo County. The program strives to provide parents/caregivers with tools and strategies to reduce parental stress through a strength-based and short-term approach.

CAPS Intervention services are serving victims ages 0-17 and their families in San Mateo County that have been the victim of child abuse and/or neglect. Services are for victims and/or their caregivers. Family members may also qualify to help with the treatment of the child.

Services CAPS provides to families and children include individual and family therapy, group therapy, and case management. Services are available in the family’s home, in their community, or via telehealth.

Range of services include:

  • Individual, child, and family therapy
  • Family Advocate-Case Management services (skill-building, connection to resources)
  • Parent education
  • Parent support groups/workshops in the community.

Los servicios de prevención de CAPS están disponibles para familias con niños de 0 a 17 años en ciudades selectas del condado de San Mateo (East Palo Alto, Redwood City, San Mateo, San Bruno, Daly City, Half Moon Bay, Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada). El programa se enfoca a proporcionar herramientas y estrategias para reducir el estrés de los padres/cuidadores a través de un enfoque a corto plazo y basado en estrategias positivas.

Los servicios de intervención de CAPS atienden a víctimas de 0 a 17 años y sus familias en el condado de San Mateo que han sido víctimas de abuso y/o negligencia infantil. Los servicios son para víctimas y/o sus cuidadores. Los miembros de la familia también pueden calificar para ayudar con el tratamiento del niño/a.

Los servicios que brinda CAPS a familias y niños incluyen terapia individual y familiar, terapia de grupo y administración de casos. Los servicios están disponibles en la casa de la familia, en su comunidad o a través de telesalud.

Los servicios incluye:

  • Terapia individual, infantil y familiar.
  • Servicios de Apoyo familiar (conexión a recursos)
  • Charlas y groupos de platicas para padres/cuidadores
  • Talleres en la comunidad

  • $50 can buy art therapy supplies to help children overcome trauma.
  • $100 can buy reading and educational play materials to help low income families prepare their children for kindergarten.
  • $500 helps buy linens, cooking utensils, or text books and other necessities for a former foster youth moving into a shared apartment.
  • $1,000 helps us with the cost of providing a safe home, food, and counseling for a homeless youth
