CHILD AND PARENT SERVICES (CAPS)

The CAPS program is serving children ages 0-17 and their families in San Mateo County that have been the victim of child abuse and/or neglect. The program provides therapeutic and advocacy services to children victimized by abuse and/or neglect using a short-term approach. Services for family members and/or caregivers of child victims are also available to help with the treatment of the child.

Early Intervention services are still available to families with children 0-17 in selected cities across San Mateo County. Services are available in the family’s home, in their community, or telehealth.

Range of services includes:

  • Individual, child, and family therapy
  • Family Advocate-Case Management services (skill-building, connection to resources)
  • Parent education
  • Parent support groups/workshops in the community.

El programa CAPS brinde servicios a niños/as/es de edades 0 a 17 años y a sus familias en el condado de San Mateo que han sido víctimas de abuso y / o negligencia. El programa brinde servicios terapéuticos y manejo de casos a niños/as/es víctimas de abuso y/ o negligencia utilizando un tratamiento de corto plazo. También se encuentran disponibles servicios familiares para familias y/ o cuidadores de niños/as/es víctimas para ayudar con el tratamiento.

Los servicios de Prevención todavía están disponibles para familias con niños de edades 0 a 17 años en algunas ciudades del condado de San Mateo.Los servicios están disponibles en el hogar de la familia, en su comunidad o por telesalud.

Los servicios disponible son:

  • Terapia individual, infantil y familiar
  • Servicios de apoyo de familiar (conexión a recursos)
  • Educación para padres y/ o cuidadores

Grupos de apoyo, y talleres para padres en la comunidad.

  • $100 can buy reading and educational play materials to help low income families prepare their children for kindergarten.
  • $500 helps buy linens, cooking utensils, or text books and other necessities for a former foster youth moving into a shared apartment.
  • $1,000 helps us with the cost of providing a safe home, food, and counseling for a homeless youth
