Together for Families/Child & Parent Services (Bilingual Spanish preferred) (FULL)
Counseling, case-management and support services are provided to any family with a child 0-17 living in 10 San Mateo County cities. The focus of the program is reducing caregiver stress through strength-based and short-term services. CAPS is also available to any child 0-17 that has experienced a crime and/or neglect that lives in San Mateo County.

The center offers affordable community-based counseling services for children, adolescents, adults and families.
Crisis Center
The Crisis Center operates the 24/7 crisis intervention and suicide prevention hotline fielding calls, texts and chats from both local and national hotlines in which crisis counselors provide crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, safety planning, and compassionate connection.* Additionally, the Crisis Center facilitates mental health and suicide prevention-focused presentations, as well as postventions following a crisis to local school districts, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and community-based organizations as another service that broadens the awareness of mental health and fosters resilience and support throughout the county.
* Crisis Center internships consist of a minimum of one 4-hour hotline shift per week. Can be combined with another StarVista internship.
Daybreak
Transitional housing program that provides independent living skills training and mental health support for homeless teens aged 16-21.
Differential Response (bilingual Spanish preferred)
Home visiting and case management service for families that have been reported to Child Protective Services and evaluated as low-risk. Case managers help link families to resource centers, in-home therapy, and other services in schools and the community.
Early Childhood Services Department (bilingual Spanish preferred)
This program provides mental health consultation, early intervention and clinical services to the families and caregivers of children birth to age 5. Interventions are aimed at strengthening the social-emotional development and school readiness of our community’s high- risk children.
Foster Youth Education Enrichment Services (BSW only) (FULL)
This program provides one-to-one, strength-based counseling, support and enrichment services that promote academic achievement for foster youth from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Insights
Youth outpatient drug and alcohol recovery program that empowers the youth to take responsibility and facilitate lasting change. Case management, individual, group and family counseling are used to help participants learn about anger management, relationships, mental health and communication skills.
San Mateo County Pride Center (FULL)
Intensive counseling, education and support services for individuals and families in the LGBTQ+ community. The Center is a partnership between StarVista, Peninsula Family Service and Outlet of Adolescent Counseling Services.
School-Based Services (FULL)
Mental health services in elementary, middle and high schools throughout San Mateo County. Services include assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, family therapy and consultation with parents, teachers and other school staff.
Women's Enrichment Center
Intensive day treatment program for women diagnosed with both substance misuse and mental health issues. Clients attend two groups daily M-F as well as weekly individual therapy and case management support.
