Dear Friends,
I would like to thank all of the frontline providers, our partners, our staff and others who are doing critical work to inform, protect and advocate for communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. These groups are engaging in these efforts on top of their existing work in order to respond to the community needs. Some of our program staff, along with other essential workers, continue to serve clients directly. While we will continue to make sure we are caring for our most vulnerable clients, we thank our staff for their courageous efforts on the frontline.
As we face this crisis together, our organization needs your support to ensure our long-term wellness.
What Can You Do?
Join the multiyear and annual giving supporters. Consider committing to multi-year pledge payments and annual giving. Contact lea.berhane@star-vista.org for more information.
Double your impact, give online towards StarVista’s Giving Tuesday Campaign. Like many organizations, we have pivoted to virtual fundraising strategies and we continue to work towards our fundraising goals without our largest fundraising events. Please give to strengthen your community.
Be an advocate for our nonprofit sector, which employs more than 12 million individuals nationwide. In California, nonprofits account for 1,112,268 employees of the state’s workforce. Our economy cannot recover if the nonprofit organizations cannot maintain staffing levels, pivot to address new and increasing demands, and recover from losses resulting from the pandemic.
During this crisis, it has become all the more important to express how much we care about our collective well-being by showing compassion and kindness. While we create physical space between ourselves, we must also find ways to stay connected and strengthen community ties.
Please join us in empowering individuals, inspiring hope, and strengthening communities.
In Gratitude,
Sara Larios Mitchell, Ph.D., MACP
