I am grateful to share some exciting updates and celebrations with you this month!
First, I would like to acknowledge that it is Pride Month. Here at StarVista, we proudly support the LGBTQ+ community and the inclusion and acceptance of all individuals. I am grateful for the incredible work that our staff at the San Mateo County Pride Center do in meeting the mental health and wellness needs of our LGBTQ+ community members. Thank you for everything you do.
In celebration of Pride Month, we will be sharing resources, history, and event links celebrating the LGBTQ+ movement on our social media channels and website, including the San Mateo County Pride Celebration Event. Click here for more information.
In addition, I am excited to formally announce that registration is open for Changing Lives 2021! I’m thrilled to have you join me at our once-a-year fundraiser to ignite change in the lives of individuals and families in our community. Changing Lives is our opportunity to come together to recognize the incredible achievements of our clients and programs, and to help even more people on their journey towards vibrant mental health and wellness.

This year is all about StarVista’s 55 years of service. Since 1966, StarVista has been there for people in their darkest moments, offering a change of perspective, a new beginning, and a chance at a brighter future. The lives we have touched since our doors first opened are countless, but the impact of our work is real, and it is extraordinary!
Last year, we announced an impactful way for people to join us in fulfilling our mission. This year, I invite you to once again consider supporting the long-term sustainability of our agency by becoming a StarVista Visionary. This special group of StarVista partners are dedicated to promoting mental health, wellness, and resiliency, and they share a vision of what we can achieve when we help others in their times of need. By pledging to give $1,000+ each year for 5 years (or just $84 per month), you can become a StarVista Visionary like me and start building a legacy of bringing hope to the most vulnerable among us.
I also want to invite you to join me in being a Virtual Table Captain for this year’s event and invite others in your life to join us. Folks like you help spread our mission to new and exciting areas of our community and we are grateful for every connection made and individual or family helped in the process.
