A Message from our CEO

October 2024

Dear friends,

I hope this message finds you well and thriving. I am absolutely thrilled to invite you to our once-a-year fundraising event, Changing Lives 2024: Unity Through Community. This year’s event is particularly special as it marks our 5th Changing Lives event, and it promises to be a memorable evening. We will be gathering tomorrow, Thursday, October 17 from 6-9pm at the Farallon Room at Skyline College in San Bruno. I hope that you will join us!

The evening will be filled with free food and drinks, live music, stories of inspiration, and ample opportunities to network with fellow mental health and wellness advocates in San Mateo County. It’s going to be a wonderful chance to connect, share, and celebrate the progress we’ve made together.

I am especially grateful and excited to announce that we will be joined by a number of inspirational guest speakers, including a former Daybreak client and Congressman Kevin Mullin, CA 15. Their stories and insights are sure to inspire and motivate us all. If you haven’t had a chance to RSVP yet, please do so here.

Changing Lives and our Visionary Community began in 2020 during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. It started as a virtual gathering that brought together supporters from all walks of life, united by a common cause and the shared experience of navigating those uncertain times. The event is more than just another fundraiser; it inspires hope, strengthens community, and empowers individuals. It serves as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and the importance of maintaining strong connections with each other amidst uncertainties. Learn more about it’s evolution in this blog.

As welcome together for our 5th Changing Lives event, we recognize the collective effort it takes to improve the mental health and wellness of our shared community. Your presence and support are crucial in increasing access to our essential services and helping children, youth, adults, and families build their resiliency. You are the change-makers, and together, we make change possible. If you have not already joined our Visionary Community, I invite you to learn more about it here.

I sincerely hope to see you at Changing Lives 2024!

Warm regards,

Sara Larios Mitchell, Ph.D., MACP
