Dear Friends,
I hope this email finds you well.
StarVista’s Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Center program recently joined over 200 Crisis Centers that are networked with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in receiving 988 calls to our call center. 988 is a brand-new nationwide initiative that aims to improve the crisis response system in our nation. Yesterday, we were grateful to partner with the Office of Congresswoman Jackie Speier to hold a press conference to discuss our involvement with 988. I invite you to watch the press conference on our YouTube channel here. You can also learn more about 988 in our FAQ blog here.
I would like to thank our incredible Kids Kamp donors for your support of this year’s Kamp. This program offers children a unique opportunity to connect with fellow Kampers who live in families struggling with addiction and mental health issues. Thanks to our Kids Kamp donor base, I have seen this program change the lives of so many deserving children in San Mateo County. I invite you to support Kids Kamp by making a donation here.
Lastly, I am excited to announce the date for our Changing Lives fundraising event! We will be hosting Changing Lives on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 6-9pm at Skyline College in San Bruno. We will send out a formal save-the-date invite to you very soon with more information about this incredible once-a-year event. I hope you can join me there.
Sincerely,
Sara Larios Mitchell, Ph.D., MACP
CEO
