5K Run and Wellness Fair in Partnership with San Mateo PAL and Stride for Awareness
Reflecting on the strides we’ve made and the paths we’ve journeyed, Mental Health Matters 2024 stands as a testament to our collective resolve to foster well-being and understanding.
Mental Health Matters 2024, with over 550 participants, was a shining example of what can be achieved when dedicated organizations join forces. StarVista, with its longstanding commitment to mental health and community support, partnered with San Mateo PAL and Stride for Awareness to host an incredible 5K Run/Walk and Wellness Fair.
The day kicked off with the energy of the 5K Run/Walk, where each step taken was a step towards destigmatizing mental health. We were grateful to be joined by teams, individuals, families, dogs, and babies in strollers for a collective activity along the bay. Many individuals were adorned with green clothing and accessories, symbolizing their unity for our cause.
The Wellness Fair blossomed into a hub of knowledge and self-care, with community exhibitors offering insights and resources. From the soothing stretches of yoga sessions to the engaging self-care activities, there was a sense of nurturing one’s mental and physical well-being. Guests were also able to grab a delicious treat from Lilo’s Kitchen and Mister Softee food rucks at Ryder Park.
As the event unfolded, it became clear that Mental Health Matters is more than just an event; it’s the pulse of our community. To have over 500 individuals of all ages and backgrounds gather to support a common goal of destigmatizing mental illness means that mental health and wellness is a priority for San Mateo County residents.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, partners, community exhibitors, in-kind donors, volunteers, and every participant who contributed to the resounding success of this event. Your support fuels our mission and amplifies our message: mental health truly matters.
