Dear Friends,
I hope this email finds you well and thriving.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about mental health and illness and to provide resources to support our communities. StarVista believes that mental health is critical in all aspects of life. We are proud to be the provider of nearly 30 counseling, case management, skill development, and crisis prevention programs that change the lives of tens of thousands of people in our community each year.
I invite you to join me this Sunday, May 21 for Mental Health Matters 2023: A Community Wellness Fair and 5K Event. Our event, taking place at Seal Point Park from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, is an opportunity for individuals, families, and friends to enjoy a day filled with fun, learning, and wellness. This year, we are excited to partner with San Mateo PAL to host an event that offers activities that support mental wellness while providing education about mental health services in San Mateo County!
StarVista will also be part of other mental health events throughout the county. You can also see StarVista’s Mental Health display on the 3rd floor at the San Mateo Library, which will feature resources from our programs and information about upcoming events. Our partners at SolMateo are hosting their 41st Signature Kitchen Tour on May 19th. Proceeds from the event benefit the Mental Health Association of San Mateo County and StarVista’s Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention Center, directly helping those with mental illness in our community.
Last, but certainly not least, I am excited to share our Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 is here! This report shares updates from our agency, stories from our programs, highlights our impact, and celebrates everyone that has supported our services this past year. I want to thank the StarVista community of funders, donors, Visionaries, Board Members, supporters, partners, sponsors, clients, staff, interns, and volunteers, for all that you do. Your support ensures our communities can rely on us to be there for them in their darkest times, and we are truly grateful for your partnership.
Wishing you all good health and wellness.
Sincerely,
Sara Larios Mitchell, Ph.D., MACP
