Recap: Kids Kamp 2024

August 2024

Thank YOU for helping our Kampers get to Camp Lodestar! This year, our Kids Kamp experience was once again held at the beautiful Camp Lodestar, nestled in the Sierra foothills. We are thrilled to share that this year’s camp was a resounding success, filled with joy, growth, and unforgettable memories.

For 6 days and 5 nights, Kampers had the opportunity to relax and immerse themselves in nature. Kampers enjoyed a variety of wellness activities, including drawing, ziplining, hiking, making s’mores, swimming, and more! They also participated in wellness workshops designed to support their mental health and help them navigate challenges at home.

Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we provide children, aged 8-12, with an unforgettable experience at Kids Kamp every summer at no cost to them and their families. The Kids Kamp experience, hosted annually for StarVista clients by our School-based Services, remains unique to San Mateo County.

All Kids Kamp participants come from homes where family members face mental health issues and/or substance abuse. The camp not only offers children a chance to connect and have fun but also empowers them to heal from their traumas, build skills, learn healthy coping mechanisms, and explore their feelings in a safe and supportive environment.

Kids Kamp is made possible by our incredible donors. This year, we were fortunate to have a generous donor match $30,000!

On behalf of the Kampers who attended this year’s Kids Kamp, thank you for your support!

We can’t wait to load the bus to Camp Lodestar in 2025! If you would like to donate towards StarVista’s Kids Kamp 2025, click here.
