Pedal for a Cause: Claim Your Mile event

Hosted by: Basecamp San Mateo in Support of StarVista

June 2024

On Saturday, June 29, Basecamp San Mateo hosted a remarkable event, “Claim Your Mile,” that went beyond fitness. It was a day dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues, breaking down the stigma surrounding mental illness, and promoting overall mental well-being.

The Basecamp San Mateo community came together in an extraordinary display of unity and determination, cycling a total of 468 miles in support of StarVista’s mission. This wasn’t just a physical challenge; it was a powerful statement of support for those facing mental health challenges.

The event was more than just miles on a bike; it was about creating a space where conversations about mental health could be open and supportive. It was about showing that we, as a community, are here for each other, ready to listen and help.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Basecamp San Mateo for their unwavering support and for making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve. The funds raised, totaling $596, will help StarVista continue to provide crucial services to those in need.

As we look forward to the next Claim Your Mile event, we are filled with hope and excitement. This time, we aim to go even further in our efforts to raise awareness and promote mental well-being.

Thank you, Basecamp, for being a pivotal part of our journey. Your support empowers us to continue our work and inspires others to join in our cause. Together, we are making a difference—one mile, one conversation, one community at a time.
