A Message from our CEO

November 2024

Dear friends,

I hope this email finds you well.

Happy Thanksgiving! In the spirit of gratitude, I would like to thank you, our supporters, donors, partners, funders, and sponsors, for everything you give to help San Mateo County thrive. Our organization continues to be a beacon of hope for nearly 40,000 individuals every year, and together, we are addressing the mental health and wellness needs to communities in need.

I would like to thank everyone who attended StarVista’s Changing Lives once-a-year fundraiser last month. It was a pleasure seeing you all in person at the beautiful Farallon Room where we are collectively supporting tens of thousands of individuals in navigating life’s challenges. I would like to especially thank our new and renewing Visionaries for their 5-year pledges of unrestricted funding for our nearly 30 programs. In case you missed it, you can watch the full event recording on our YouTube channel here.

It is with immense excitement and gratitude that we announce a groundbreaking chapter in StarVista’s journey: we are relocating our headquarters and several programs to a new space. StarVista’s headquarters will be situated at 818 Mahler Rd, Burlingame, CA 94010, soon. This incredible venue, expansive square footage, symbolizes a new era of growth and innovation for our organization. Several vital programs, including Differential Response, Early Childhood Services, Transitional Housing Plus, School-Based Services, and the Health Ambassador Program – Youth (HAP-Y), will also make this exciting transition with us. We will also be adjacent to our First Chance program. Stay tuned as we continue to send updates via mail and email.

Lastly, I am excited to share StarVista will be fundraising through the holidays to support our residential programs on #GivingTuesday on December 3! #GivingTuesday is the world’s day of giving, where generosity gives everyone the power to make a positive change in the lives of others. If you would like to support StarVista’s residential programs this #GivingTuesday, click here. $300 provides 12 meals to Transitional Youth Services or Daybreak youth this Thanksgiving. Together, we can ensure everyone in our community has a reason to be thankful this holiday season. Thank you for your support and generosity!

Sincerely,

Sara Larios Mitchell, Ph.D., MACP
