Dear Friends,
I hope this email finds you well and thriving.
I am grateful to share that our annual holiday gift drive, Randy’s Gift Drive, is accepting in-kind toy donations again this year! For the past couple of years, we have only been accepting monetary gifts out of concern for the health and safety of everyone during the COVID-19 outbreak. I want to thank our gift drive donors for brightening the holidays for our clients and their families during such challenging times. This year, we are excited to bring a variety of ways to deliver joy this holiday season. Donors can either shop for a client on our clients’ wish list, make a monetary gift, or purchase gifts for an entire StarVista program on our Amazon Charity List! If you are shopping for a client, we invite you to bring your gifts to one of our Gift Drop Days during the week of December 5th.
I would like to express my sincerest thanks to everyone that supported our Changing Lives event in October. To our donors, Visionaries, sponsors, funders, staff, volunteers, interns, and community partners, thank you for helping bring our life-changing services to those in need throughout San Mateo County. I would also like to give a special thanks to San Mateo County’s Mayor’s Mental Health Initiative and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative for their $62,000 dollar-for-dollar match of donations to StarVista for Changing Lives and the rest of the season! Please join me at our Cheers for Changing Lives celebration event on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022, at 6pm and enjoy free food, beverages, desserts, live DJ music, and connection with your friends at StarVista. If you are participating in Randy’s Gift Drive, you can also bring your gift to this event (it is one of our Gift Drop Days).
Lastly, I would like to share a great resource available to everyone this holiday season. I invite you to explore StarVista’s Holiday Wellness Toolkit, a collaboration between our Counseling, Crisis Center, and Pride Center programs. We hope this toolkit aids in helping you prepare for or cope with any challenging times that may lie ahead, whether they be during times of isolation or when gathered with others.
Sincerely,
Sara Larios Mitchell, Ph.D., MACP
