Dear Friends,
We at StarVista are committed to providing you with updates as we go through this COVID-19 crisis together. StarVista is proud to announce that we are taking part in the groundbreaking global generosity movement, #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and unity, set to take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. We are excited to announce that we have partnered with the Peery Foundation to double your impact up to $50,000.
StarVista acknowledges those in our community affected by illness, quarantines, school closures, layoffs, furloughs, and other economic hardships. We are ready to help however we can, and I am confident we will remain nimble in our daily response to the extraordinary events now facing us.
At StarVista, there is no higher priority than the safety of our volunteers, staff, and the community we serve. Since the onset of COVID-19, we have taken extra precautions, including increased cleaning and sanitizing of our facilities. We are following the guidance of the CDC, and local and state health agencies.
The need for mental health services in our community has always been there. The economic impact of COVID-19 has increased that need beyond what we could have imagined. Many are looking to StarVista for assistance, leadership, and comfort. Thanks to the support of our dynamic Board of Directors, incredible network of supporters, volunteers, and partners, we are here for them. Our community has been tested before and emerged stronger. We will again. For more information on how you can volunteer or donate to StarVista, please visit us at www.star-vista.org or call us at 650-591-9623 x142. If your employer would like to participate by assisting us to double our dollars, please contact lea.berhane@starvista.org.
On behalf of StarVista’s Board of Directors, staff, interns, volunteers, and the people we are privileged to serve, I thank you. I wish you and all those dear to you good health, strength, and fortitude as we weather the storm and come out of it stronger than we came into it.
Sincerely,
Sara Larios Mitchell, Ph.D., MACP
