Dear Friends,
I hope you are all well.
As we enter the last month of our fiscal year, I want to thank the StarVista community for your continued support of our organization. Our mission to help all ages and stages through life’s challenges is made possible by you, our funders, donors, sponsors, supporters, partners, staff, interns, and volunteers. In the spirit of another year of success, I am pleased to share StarVista’s Annual Report 2020-2021 with you. This year’s annual report highlights our 55th anniversary and history of providing essential mental health and supportive services in San Mateo County. Read the annual report here.
Earlier this month, SolMateo, one of our long-standing supporters, hosted a luncheon to thank all board members and volunteers who have participated with SolMateo. By raising money and awareness for organizations that provide essential services like suicide prevention hotlines, emergency housing for homelessness, and counseling services, SolMateo strives to help our neighbors obtain critical resources in times of need. These funds will help support our Crisis Center program! Thank you, SolMateo!
This June, and every month, we celebrate and support the growth, achievements, and inclusion of LGBTQIA+ individuals in San Mateo County. I invite you to join us in celebrating Pride Month by attending the San Mateo County’s 10th Annual Pride Celebration at San Mateo Central Park on June 11 from 11am-5pm. This free event will feature live music, resource booths (including a booth from StarVista’s San Mateo County Pride Center program), vendors, and more! Learn more here.
We are also very excited to celebrate the 5th anniversary of our San Mateo County Pride Center program! Over 10 years in the making, the Pride Center is a collaboration between StarVista, Outlet of Adolescent Counseling Services, and Peninsula Family Service, providing education, training, community events, peer support groups, daily programming, clinical therapy, and case management. Join us on June 30 from 6-8pm for a virtual celebration featuring fun activities, performances, and more! Register here.
Wishing you a safe and healthy summer season.
Sincerely,
Sara Larios Mitchell, Ph.D., MACP
