Message from our CEO Regarding COVID-19

Message from our CEO Regarding COVID-19

blog, News

Dear Community,

As you likely have heard, there is a shelter in place ordinance that was announced yesterday for San Mateo County and the Bay Area.  In reviewing the ordinance, as of now, our organization, StarVista, is considered an essential social service provider as we work in providing shelter, support vulnerable populations, and provide crisis support. During this rapidly evolving and challenging time, we are focused on our community’s wellbeing.

Therefore, we will remain in operation and are shifting some of our service delivery to have staff provide services from home.

As many of our staff will be working from home, our 24/7 and Residential programs  (Your House South, Daybreak, Transitional Youth Services, and First Chance Sobering Station) and many of our Administrative staff and some Program Managers and Directors will continue coming in to work to support our essential services.  As a reminder, our Suicide Prevention and Crisis Intervention Hotline (650) 579-0350 or (800) 273-8255 and our Differential Response Resource Line (650) 489-2097 are available to our community. Thank you to all of our staff for going above and beyond to support our community during these times.

We will also be sharing updates and resources on our StarVista Facebook page and other social media sites.

We wish everyone good health and safety during this time.

Warm regards,
Sara Larios Mitchell, Ph.D., MACP
