September is National Suicide Prevention Month. All month, mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, allies, and community members unite to promote suicide prevention awareness.
we were grateful to partner with the Office of Congresswoman Jackie Speier to hold a press conference to discuss our involvement with 988.
Starting July 16, the StarVista Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Center will begin taking 988 calls at our call center.
Michelle Woo has joined StarVista as our new Director of Family and Community Services. She will provide warm and collaborative leadership to our Pride Center, Early Childhood Services, Foster Youth Education & Enrichment Services, Health Ambassador Program for Youth, and the Youth Development Initiative.

StarVista’s Child and Parent Services (CAPS) is available to any family with a child 0-17 living in Redwood City, East Palo Alto, San Mateo, Half Moon Bay, Montara, El Granada, Moss Beach, San Bruno, South San Francisco, and Daly City. The focus of the program is on reducing caregiver stress through a strength-based and short-term approach.
