Dear friends,
I hope this email finds you well and thriving.
I would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who supported this year’s Kids Kamp campaign. Thanks to your generosity, Kampers were able to explore, learn, and have fun at this getaway experience of a lifetime. Kampers enjoyed a variety of wellness activities, including drawing, ziplining, hiking, making s’mores, swimming, and more! They also participated in wellness workshops designed to support their mental health and help them navigate challenges at home. The Kids Kamp experience, hosted annually for StarVista clients by our team, remains unique to San Mateo County. You can read the Kids Kamp recap on our website here.
I am also delighted to announce the promotion of Lea Berhane to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will work to execute StarVista’s operational and strategic goals in partnership with me and the Executive Team. As part of her role, Lea will foster cross-functional collaboration to align with our vision, fuel growth, and help boost the agency’s results. Lea will continue to be a champion for staff and foster their professional development.
Last but not least, we are less than 8 weeks away from our once-a-year fundraising event, Changing Lives 2024: Unity through Community, taking place on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the Farallon Room at Skyline College. As we gather for our 5th Changing Lives event, we acknowledge the collective effort it takes to improve the mental health and wellness of our shared community. Your presence and support increase access to our essential services and help children, youth, adults, and families build their resiliency. Enjoy a night of inspiration and connection and RSVP to our event here!
Warm regards,
Sara Larios Mitchell, Ph.D., MACP
