StarVista’s Kids Kamp is designed for children living in families with alcohol, drug addiction, and mental health issues to be able to put aside their stress and heal.

StarVista’s School Based Services has been providing high quality mental health services to San Mateo County students for over 10 years. The goal of this program is to support students in improving aspects of their lives that may lead to enhanced school performance and increased engagement in learning.
In order to accomplish this goal, we send qualified mental health clinicians to each school site and provide a myriad of services including assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, family therapy, psycho-education, and classroom presentations, as well as extensive consultation and training with teachers, parents, administration, and other school support staff.
We adapt our services to fit the unique needs of each school and San Mateo County’s diverse student population.
Currently providing services in elementary, middle, and high schools in the following districts:
• Redwood City School District
• Belmont-Redwood Shores School District
• Sequoia Union High School District
• Jefferson Union High School District
StarVista’s Strengthen our Youth (SOY) program offers professional counseling, education, and prevention services to students and families. SOY helps students learn to make healthy decisions as they enter their teenage years. Through school-wide awareness programs, students build decision making and critical thinking skills, stronger self-esteem and social skills, and closer and healthier relationships with peers, family members, and the school community.
By strengthening students’ self-esteem and decision-making skills, SOY hopes to prevent interest in alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and to reduce violence, bullying, and interest in gangs.
SOY clinicians are available to see students who are having difficulties at school; show interest in alcohol, drugs, or gangs; or have personal or family issues that could lead to substance abuse and other risktaking behaviors. SOY clinicians can also work with any student who needs help finding a way to navigate the challenging years of adolescence.
Clinicians with the SOY program are present in 3 high schools and 2 middle schools in Half Moon Bay, South San Francisco, and Daly City.
