StarVista Giving Tuesday Now Spring Campaign

This year our Spring Campaign kicked off on #GivingTuesdayNow, a new global day of giving and unity, which took place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you have not had a chance to give there is still time to DOUBLE your impact! Donate Today!

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with the Peery Foundation to double your donation up to $50,000.

Double your impact GIVE TODAY!

Double your impact when you make a donation to StarVista today during this COVID-19 emergency and help us to continue to provide our services to our community.

We are facing one of the most uncharted and unprecedented challenges of the 21st century. The challenge is larger than any one of us can handle on our own and requires the utmost understanding and empathy for one another.

We are so proud to say that StarVista is continuing to provide all our services to our clients. We are committed to finding safe ways to be available and supportive to our community during the “shelter in place” orders. Our school-based, mental health, AOD, early childhood, crisis intervention, Pride Center, youth housing, mandated, and all other services are continuing using Telehealth.

We are also still serving homeless youth in our residential programs which are truly like a home environment and are warm, inviting, and welcoming.  We are now adapting and practicing “physical distancing” for safety.

While our team has adapted at a very rapid pace to the new methods of serving our clients, not all of our clients have access to technology.  With so many services switching to remote platforms, we are in need of devices including laptops, phones and tablets to help our clients access online school, work and appointments.

In addition to our youth residential programs, we have staff serving clients directly at our First Chance Sobering Station.  We continue to need protective gear such as masks, sanitizers, and bleach.  The need for these supplies is critical as we saw a dramatic increase in clients during the month of March.

Double your impact today, your donation today will create a lasting impact, especially as we continue to serve those deeply affected by the outcomes of this situation.

THANK YOU!

The following are examples of how you and the community have responded to our emerging needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Your contributions have made a positive lasting impact on the lives of your neighbors.

Tyler’s Story

With help from our social media community, StarVista was able to provide a foster child a Chromebook so that they can do their schoolwork while learning from home. We would like to thank the individual who donated the Chromebook for helping us support our community during these times. Click here to read the story.

A Story from our First Chance Program

A very special thanks to Officer Jon Marco Urrere-Serratio from the Burlingame Police Department for helping connect a community member in need to our First Chance program, where they were able to find shelter and services. Click here to read the story.
